Welcome to the Science Space, New South Wales's only major hands-on science centre, offering educational and interactive science experiences suitable for all ages. Visitors can enjoy live shows in our science theatre or explore the many interactive exhibits. The centre also houses the largest fixed-dome planetarium in the state, and offers regular planetarium shows. With snackbar facilities, landscaped gardens and an extensive science shop, located on the University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus, the Science Space offers a complete visit.
NEW EXHIBIT: Thermal Camera
How hot are you?
One of our newest exhibits the ‘Thermal Camera’ is similar to an ordinary camera except it operates on light wave lengths 2-3 times longer. This allows the camera to pick up infrared radiation or simply the warmth being emitted from our bodies which is not detected by the human eye! This is one of a number of new exhibits to be introduced as part of the first phase of our ongoing developments.
NEW PLANETATRIUM SHOW: 'Capturing the Cosmos'

New and innovative telescopes are finding things we’ve never seen before and will help us to better understand our Universe! Produced by the Melbourne Planetarium (Scienceworks) this show is 30min in duration and is recommended for Year 5 to adults.
